About our Keynote Speaker:
The 2022 OEHA AEC Keynote Speaker was Doug Farquhar, Director of Government Affairs
at the National Environmental Health Association.
Doug Farquhar is an attorney and a senior policy director with over 25 years of experience on state legislative policy, with a focus on the nexus between state and federal policy making. He has extensive experience and expertise in providing prompt and relevant analysis of State, Federal and International legislation and regulation, including preparing legislative analysis, comparing state approaches to policy, as well as developing intergovernmental policy portfolios.
Mr. Farquhar has 30 years of experience working with policy makers on environmental and health issues. Primarily working with state legislatures, he has testified 60 times before legislative committees in 36 states, in addition to consulting with state agency staff in every state on enlightening state policy makers. He has written books and articles on state legislative policy and was a columnist for NEHA’s Journal of Environmental Health prior to taking on his current role.
Additional Activities:
The 2022 OEHA AEC included a silent auction, the proceeds of which support OEHA, Educational Opportunities and Environmental Health Scholarships. Examples of items that were auctioned included ski and sightseeing passes from Mt. Bachelor, golf at Aspen Lakes, and more. See below for more information about our generous donors.
The 2022 AEC included recognition of outstanding members of the Environmental Health profession, as well as a Munch & Mingle social event for networking.
Getting involved
The registration for the 2022 OEHA AEC closed early because the event sold out. Like many other events over the last few years, our 2020 conference was postponed due to the pandemic. The 2022 OEHA AEC took the place of the long awaited 2020 OEHA AEC that was postponed.
If you weren't able to attend the 2022 OEHA AEC and you're interested in attending an OEHA event, please plan ahead to attend the 2023 OEHA Annual Education Conference in the Fall of 2023.

What did OEHA do to prevent COVID-19 transmission at the AEC?
OEHA followed current OHA guidance regarding precautions to prevent COVID-19 transmission. We strongly encouraged vaccination and provided masks and hand sanitizer at the conference. Masks were optional for attendees. Read current OHA guidance on masking here.
